Getting started

Four steps from nothing to a live order.

1 · Sign in

Sign in with email, Google, or your own wallet. If you do not bring a wallet, one is created for you on first sign-in and it stays yours.

Export your key. From Settings, export the private key of the wallet created for you and store it somewhere safe. If you lose access to your sign-in method and have not exported it, the funds in that wallet are unrecoverable — by you or by anyone else.

2 · Connect a venue

Open Settings → Venues and connect one. What each venue asks for differs: some want a signature from your wallet, some want an API key you create in their own app, and a couple require identity verification on their side. The venue list says which is which.

If you create an API key at a venue, create it with trading permission only. Never give a key withdrawal permission.

3 · Fund it

Deposit to the venue from the app, or send funds to your venue account the way you normally would. Taba shows you the address and the network; the transfer itself is between you and the venue. Check the network before you send — a transfer over the wrong one is usually gone.

4 · Trade

Pick a market, set your size and leverage, and send the order. Attach a take-profit and a stop-loss while you are there; you can also add them to a position later.

Everything after that — positions, orders, fills, funding — flows back into the journal on its own. There is nothing to log by hand.

Start smaller than you think

Place one small order first and watch it the whole way through: that it fills where you expected, that the position shows what you expected, that closing it does what you expected. Verify it against the venue's own interface once. Then size up.
